Mukongoro Community Healthcare Services is a local Non-Governmental Organization founded in 1993 by Mr Ojangole Simon Peter, a clinical officer/ anaesthetist by profession in collaboration with community members who saw a need for an Organisation that would provide basic social-economic needs and Health Care services to the under privileged and vulnerable populations at the time of insurgency in Teso sub region, at a time when social service delivery was greatly affected.
The organisation also supports and implements Community Hygiene/sanitation, OVC support, Preventive, Curative, Rehabilitation and Psychosocial Support, Income and Livelihoods, Education, Maternal and Child Health, Reproductive Health and Rights, outreaches, and Community Development.
The Organisation is operating as Private Not for Profit Organization (Non Faith based). It’s registered with the Allied Health Professionals, UCBHCA, URSB, and as an NGO/CBO by Mukongoro Sub County and Kumi District Local Government.
With support from USAID through ABT Associates, the Voucher plus Activity was implemented from 2015 to 2020. PACE/PSI Uganda provides family planning and District Health Office-Kumi also collaborates
